Poor Little Girls

Filed under: Spirituality — admin @ 6:15 pm

The most appalling thing that can happen to a little girl is rape and premature sexual activity.

This was brought home again last night when a documentary on the ABC in Australia highlighted the work of an Australian doctor, Catherine Hamlin. In c1958 she and husband Reginald Hamlin responded to an ad for doctors willing to serve in Africa. Reg died 15 years ago and since then Catherine has continued the work they started together in Addis Ababa, Ethiopias Capital.

They started a hospital to treat the thousands of your girls who, because of early pregnancies, suffer damage to their organs. The most prominent and worst of these is obstetric fistula. This is a hole in the birth canal linking to the bladder and/or rectum. It means the girls are constantly leaking urine or feces or both. The consequence is that they smell, are socially unacceptable, and are usually abandoned by husbands, families and friends.

Watching this program was painful as these poor little girls, some married at 8 or 9 years of age by fathers rushing to get rid of them, are then possibly pregnant before they have their first period. The body is immature and the size of the pelvis such that painful labors may ensue and last for days. One woman was in labor for around 10 days. The fetus usually dies from stress and the woman has severe damage to the organs around the birth canal. Constant pressure from labor gradually forces pieces of the birth canal to fall away leaving the hole(s).

Some women are so badly affected that they cannot be cured and one teenager on the show had to use a plug after 3 operations to repair the fistula failed. The bladder, in her case, was so badly damaged that only part of it was functional.

These women live for years in horrid conditions that most of us would not expect animals to endure. One woman told of how she sat all night on pieces of wood because she constantly wet the ground under her.

This is a tragedy that the western world rarely gets to see and if it wasn’t for the work of the 2 Dr Hamlins we probably would never know about it. Unfortunately Catherine is aging and may not continue for much longer but there are now doctors who can take over, if the funds and the will is there.

When they are cured the patients receive a new dress and scarf to see them on their way. But the shoes they arrived in are the same one that were constantly saturated by urine beforehand. Some wear only thongs.

These young women come from hundred of miles away to the hospital so not many actually make it. Then they have to wait their turn when they do arrive. There are only 30 patients a week treated but Dr Hamlin said there are tens if not hundreds of thousands of such cases throughout the country, and this is only what’s come to light in Ethiopia.

Surely we can help and education and support for young women may stop the procedure which lands them into this mess in the first place. How about it all you millionaires, billionaires and wealthy companies?

If Hell exists where is it?

Filed under: Spirituality — admin @ 12:17 am

The threat of hell and burning in flames for eternity is terrorism. It is the worst form of punishment man could devise and it was aimed at enforcing power and control over empires.

Early kings used heaven and hell to force people to comply with their commands. They used poverty as a leverage to achieve their goals and the most privileged received houses, food and slaves. As you rose in status you moved closer to the royal court and became more favored by the king.

While such rulers were rich beyond measure the ordinary person was poor, hard working and usually undernourished. This was deliberate on the part of the king to protect his empire. To ensure there were always people to do his bidding, protect his realm and fight and die on battlefields people were encouraged to produce large numbers of children. This increased poverty but also led to bigger armies and a richer society.

The Maya people of Mexico left enough symbolism, codices and iconography to demonstrate how this worked. If men joined the army they became privileged and the better they served their king the higher the status they achieved. The same principle worked in Egypt where volunteers strived to build their Pharaohs the best tombs to ensure they were great kings in the after-life.

If a king fell his army fell with him and he could never rule in heaven. The goal of his men was to keep him alive at all costs to ensure their own rewards were secure.

This is why palaces were built to protect him and he resided in the innermost part with guards and security around him at all times. It was more beneficial for his servant to die in place of him and volunteers even tasted his food to ensure it was no poisoned. It was the aim of his opponents to kill him to prevent his taking over the heavenly kingdom.

The king rewarded his most dedicated with high status in heaven but individuals who opposed him would be confined to the worst place imaginable - hell.

Such individuals could also be enslaved and forced to work for those more privileged and to be sacrificed to appease the gods. That meant it was more beneficial for men to volunteer their services to the king. If a man died on the battle field he became like a prince in the after-life and to be blooded with the sword meant one rose in status in life. Self sacrifice was also widely practiced.

It is still the case that religious martyrs believe they go instantly to heaven and those they kill as opponents to their God will go to hell. The problem is no one can find either heaven or hell despite all the space travel, photographs taken from outer space, or by looking through the most powerful lens. All the planets are visible as well as the stars, black holes and so on but nowhere is there a huge oven containing the souls of billions who have supposedly been cast into it.

Of course there is the sun and that burns forever, supposedly. But that is millions of miles from earth and everything that gets close to it is annihilated. So where is hell?

The planets were once thought to be the souls of the departed residing in heaven but we know that is not correct. They are solid bodies like the earth, some hotter some colder. So where are these souls and why can’t we find their hiding place.

For hell to exist it would have to be a mighty big oven with a presence for all things existing are there. If it is not there so it cannot exist. It remains, therefore, nothing but a place in the imagination for those who want to believe in it.

But its not as simple as that. People indoctrinated from birth to believe in it are less likely to overturn it.

The role of hell is terrorism and people who believe the threats made against them by religious fanatics are living there in life. Those who seek to avoid it are slaves to the religion that drives them and they will only be free when they can see the reality of the myth.

New Book spills the beans on spirituality

Filed under: Spirituality — admin @ 3:25 am

By Norma Holt

While global warming plays havoc with the environment and overpopulation adds to the pressure on the environment religious cohorts insist on protecting all life and encouraging ever more births. Refusing to allow abortion and striving to keep people alive well past their time only adds to the stress. With resources dwindling, species extinction, rainfall becoming rare in many parts of the world the problems mount as floods, cyclones, tsunamis and earthquakes devastate agriculture, destroy homes, even cities, and impose increased hardships in virtually every country. So why do we need more people?

In Australia the once mighty Murray River is almost dry and the lake at its mouth, upon which the city of Adelaide is dependent for water, is so bad that the prognosis is that either let sea water is allowed in or loose it completely. Successive governments in 4 states have over allocated water to agriculture and the vast food bowl that once supplied produce to the world is now on the brink of becoming a desert. Huge farming and grazing properties are closing down as the owners walk off them to try to find a future elsewhere.

At the same time the Federal and State governments are advertising overseas for more migrants to come here to take up jobs. As the population grows the need for more services also grows and now there is chronic shortage of professionals as well as water, hospital beds, teaching staff, doctors, dentists, nurses, and so on. These governments comprise politicians who are religious fundamentalists that follow the teaching of their faith. The Minister for Health in the last Federal government openly believes in a virgin birth for his religious prophet while the last Treasurer paid grants of up to $4,000 for every baby born. The new government under Rudd, another religious follower, has increased the bonus to $5,000.

Throuhgout 25 years of research and observations the reason why people believe what they do and carry out actions that are against survival has never been answered. The world is in a spin as one tragedy follows the other and usually more devastating than before.

One thing does stand out about belief systems and that is that the majority think there is a heaven and hell. Despite numerous space probes that prove otherwise they contemplate a nirvana where they will live forever as winged spirit serving a masterful king. How do they know this? Because it is written in the bible and it is taught in their churches. But who wrote the bible?

My memory of reincarnation and spiritual links are not something to be taken lightly. When I left my last body, that of a man, and entered the realm of the Spirit of the Universe certain visions were given to me that have come true. Born with a different language to my parents and able to recall things from birth my main passion has been to overturn the rubbish people believe.

At age 45, the time shown to me in my between life state, commissions were given to me that included taking God off the cross and tearing down the wall that stands between the Spirit and its people. God is not a man but a Spirit. It has no sex and never fathered a child. The leaning curve from then on revealed that the New Testament is part of a conspiracy to deceive while the one who compiled it was a Roman scholar appointed by the Church to produce the document for credibility sake. He did this in the latter part of the 4th CAD and the first book in it is a record of the birth and life of Krishna, the third person of the Vedic Trinity. In is diary he wrote of his changing parts of the Septuagint, the Old Testament, to make it align to his book.

My research was extensive and uncovered evidence that cannot be denied. Irrefutable proof that a Roman Caesar, a violent, murderous and non spiritual individual, furthered his own power and control by establishing a religion in 325AD. Its members struggled to separate it from the sun worship elements on which it was based. The book ‘How 666 Stole Jesus’ follows the conspiracy from its beginning and incorporates the origin of its religious myths in the Stone age.

Any one who is troubled by the current situation in the world should remember that prophecy predicts the world will end by fire. The massive fires that burn around the world every year are contributing to the warming of it. At the same time ice caps are melting and sea levels are rising. Where sea water washes over agricultural land its availability for that purpose is gone. As forests are felled so the ability to generate fresh water diminishes. As oceans are fished out and plastic pollutes them and poisons the life out of it where will our food come from?

We are in dire straits and facing the end before much longer. Yet few are prepared to make a change either to their lifestyle, their needs, or to the environment upon which our lives depend.

My visions directed me to the retribution of God for the false gods and make-believe that people adhere to. Its probably too late for most of us to wake up to the danger we now face. But is it too late to learn the truth about ourselves?

Japanese Role in Global Destruction

Filed under: Spirituality — admin @ 10:42 pm

by Norma Holt

As the earth warms and the ice around the poles melts sea waters are rising and countries to be greatly affected with be islands with low lying land, such as those that make up most of Japan. The root cause is increased carbon entrapment in the atmosphere and trees are the main cleaner of this pullutant. They also make Oxygen which all life depends on for survival. Oxygen levels have severely depleted in the last 20 years and when it reaches 7% (now only 14% down from 40% a few years ago) we are all dead, as too will be all life on this planet.

Oblivious to this threat Japanese Companies are racing ahead for profit no matter the consequences. Many are creating the problem by purchasing timber from Rainforests. Much of this resource is then turned into wood chips for manufacturing into products, such as paper.

One such Company is Nippon who relies on the timber of old growth forests, such as those in Tasmania, to produce its paper. This e-mail arrived from Rainforest Action Network who is appealing for this Company to take responsibility and stop their activities. The following is an excerp from that message.

“Talk about adding insult to injury. Top Japanese paper company Nippon is not only driving the destruction of Tasmania’s ancient forests by buying old growth wood from logging giant Gunns Limited — they’re also misinforming the public about it.

By telling customers that all Tasmanian old growth forests are already protected (which is NOT true), Nippon — by far Gunns’ biggest buyer — is avoiding the public outcry that might force them to stop buying old growth trees from Gunns. . .

.. . Nippon Paper is the biggest buyer of old growth woodchips from the infamous logging company Gunns. This makes Nippon paper the leading supporter of Gunns’ destruction of Tasmania’s ancient forests. ”

The following plea is also from the RAN

Dear Friend,

Australia’s island state of Tasmania is home to some of the Earth’s most incredible plants and animals, including the world’s tallest hardwood trees and ancient old-growth forests.

Tragically these global treasures are being destroyed by the logging company GUNNS LIMITED.

And though Gunns has an infamous track record of cutting down pristine old-growth forests, firebombing the clearcut land, and then poisoning the local animal wildlife — Japanese paper companies like Nippon Paper are STILL buying old-growth woodchips from Gunns.

If we can get Nippon Paper (Gunns’ biggest customer) drop its orders for old growth wood, it would be a tremendous step for the campaign for Tasmania’s forests.

This is an incredibly important issue to me, and I’m trying to demand that Nippon Paper STOP buying old-growth wood from Gunns by participating in an international call-in through Rainforest Action Network.

I just sent a message to Nippon Paper, and I’m hoping you will too!

I hope that all who read this blog will take action and contact this Company and others that are destroying our planet and ultimately all humanity. The death toll will be far worse than that attributed to terrorists and they are the worst kind of terrorists because they do their deeds behind the facade of creating jobs.

Aussie Aborigines - help or hindrance

Filed under: Spirituality — admin @ 9:39 pm

by Norma Holt

The biggest story in Australia today is the action of the Federal Government which aims to wipe out sexual abuse among aboriginal children in the Northern Territory.

It appears that recent discussion over the extent of it and gross neglect of such children has forced the government to act. Reports demonstrate the suffering caused coupled with petrol sniffing, loss of schooling, poor housing, alcohol and drug addiction, and poverty.

Facing an election before the end of the year the government has sent in the big guns to take charge. At least 10 police from each of the 7 states and territories, army personnel and a team of doctors, nurses and paramedics are just the start. While it is estimated to cost  over a billion dollars the inhabitants of several communities will be subjected to physical and other types of examinations. Welfare payments will be withheld unless children attend school and other big sticks are to be wielded.

The operation begins today and most are awaiting the outcome with baited breath.

While it might sound a good idea to outsiders the aborigines are taking a different stand. According to reports occupants of villages are already on the move, petrified that this is a repeat of the ’stolen generation’. That occurred during the 60’s when children were forcefully removed from parents and placed in white people’s homes or church run orphanages where many grew up as servants. The trauma it caused has never been forgotten or forgiven as children and parents still search for each other.

The threat facing them now is that children will be removed by welfare and placed in foster care in the same way as before. That parents considered unsuitable by the law will loose custody of their offspring without the right to challenge these decisions. The reaction is dividing more than the remote communities where it is happening as many Aussies suspect ulterior motives by a government in power for 10 years. It has never looked at this before despite constant publicity given to the problems. Why, therefore, has it suddenly developed a conscience over the issue.

Why only the Northern Territory, many want to know? Sexual abuse of children is widespread throughout all communities in all states. Why only aborigines? Is it because the government can raise its profile in the light of what it faces? The sceptics are out in force and justifiable so. Recent polls show the government is a long way behind the opposition as defeat looms. It may even be inevitable unless a rabbit can be pulled from the hat.

There is no excuse not to do something but is it not more than a little suspicious? The Prime Minister has suddenly compared the situation to Hurricane Katrina and the lack of commitment and slow reaction by the US government to resolve that humanitarian disaster. If in s few months there is a change in government then what is being put in place today may be a great waste of resources.

The Prime Minister is not adverse to shaking the electorate towards his goals of power at any cost. In the last election he ensured his win by an episode called ‘Children Overboard’. Much has come to light about this scandal as it was portrayed to the electorate that illegal migrants on their way to Australia tossed their children overboard in a desperate plight to get accepted.  He used this as a scare mongering tactic that we were under threat of invasion by people linked to terrorism. That may or may not be the case but who would know?

The truth is that the boat was sinking and many jumped into the water in fear of being swamped. They were rescued by the Australian Navy which had a ship on standby to take them off the doomed craft. Testimonies from public servants tell of how they were silenced by the PM’s department when the truth came out.

Using people for political purposes is inexcusable and this may well backfire as the aborigines gather support within the wider community. Whether right or wrong traumatising and threatening societies as fragile as these remote communities is terrorism in itself. Sure look after the children, provide the right education and use persuasion and other support to encourage them into better ways. Bullying is not the way to go about it.
